A properly functioning HVAC unit is relatively quiet and rarely makes strange sounds. When your unit starts to produce some unnatural noises, it could be a clear signal that there is a problem. Squealing Squealing noises come from the blower motor, and they are an indication of a bad bearing or belt. You will be lucky if it is the latter since the belt costs less to repair.
